On April 3, 2018, Texas Outhouse became a “Hire Houston First” company. In order to quality for this designation, the company must be headquartered within Houston’s corporate city limits or within the 10 local counties of Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller, Austin, and San Jacinto or the company must have 20 percent or more of its workforce and a substantial part of its operations within the city limits or the ten counties.
“Hire Houston First” began in the fall of 2011 as a local preference program that provides contracting opportunities for home-grown businesses.
Texas Outhouse was awarded the contract for the rental of portable toilets and hand-wash stations and covers all of Precinct 1, 2, 3, and 4 for Harris County Parks Department and Harris County Flood Control District. This includes their regular service that occurs weekly and all “Special Events” that may happen throughout the year.
Some of the largest parks are owned and operated by Harris County, which include Meyer Park, Dyess Park, and Burroughs Park. These 3 sites are the home base for 1,000’s of Houston area soccer players that range in age from 6 years old to adults. On any given weekend these parks host 100’s of soccer games on Saturday and Sunday.
